Through the years we have enjoyed many successes and endured many heartbreaks, all the while having the privilege of living with some very wonderful Labradors. They and the great families we have met and forged friendships with, have enriched our lives in many ways.

Careful planning goes into every breeding in order to produce quality future generations for our kennel. We only have 0-2 litters per year and each is extremely important to us. Thus we feel it is our obligation to do our best to find the best match both for the puppy and for the families. Each inquiry will be met with the purpose of getting to know the prospective families in order to determine their needs. For the welfare of the puppy, we are very selective in finding those matches and do not sell any puppies directly from the internet. It is always our hope that the families have used some forethought and done some research ahead of time in order to be prepared for all of the needs of a new furry family member. This is not an undertaking to be taken lightly. We make every effort to get to know the families through their visits to our kennel and conversations via phone and in person. All companion pet puppies leave here at around or after 8 weeks on AKC Limited Registration which only prevents breeding and does not affect the pet family.
The LRC parent club for the Labrador breed has compiled this informative 2014 video.

The price of a puppy is directly reflective of several factors:

1) Titles- titles show both potential for offspring performance and potential for conformation to breed standard. If you see neither, the dog has not proven their ability. Titles are not an absolute indicator, but a dog with no titles and no record of producing offspring with these desired characteristics should NOT have a litter valued at more than one with.

2) Health Clearances- nobody should ever with hold health clearance information. If you are seeking a healthy puppy, you have every right to see why their puppy is supposed to be more healthy than any other. There is no "OFA Clear or Clear by Parentage" nor will there be any clearance without adequate documentation from the registry. "My vet says they're healthy" isn't good enough. A specialist in examining hips and a laboratory that screens for genetic illnesses are the ONLY things you should accept. Anything else is hokum.

3) Pedigree- this should be available upon request. This shows applicable titles and some clearances. If people deny you to see this as a potential buyer, RUN AWAY.

You are a customer and have every right to know every single reason as to why a product costs what it does. Nothing is "rare" in the Labrador world. If you hear rare, run away.

Every litter is born in our house with constant supervision both with human and canine motherly interaction. This is a wonderful learning period both for our family and especially for the puppies. We take full advantage of the opportunity to not only provide the best socialization that we are able to but also to just enjoy this very special time and all of that PRICELESS puppy breath. As the puppies mature they go through a series of changes and when weaning begins around 4 weeks are placed in a very special secure puppy area complete with obstacles and toys where they can safely begin to explore the world and learn how to get along with others. For purposes of good socialization and learning, the puppies are always exposed to many different surfaces and areas both inside and outside. We spend many hours observing and interacting with them at this critical time. By the time they are ready to leave they have had first vaccines & wormings appropriate for their age, have been examined by the local veterinarian for their initial health checks, and have been to OSU or another Vet hospital for ACVO eye checks for the entire litter. They will leave here complete with a packet full of helpful information on raising a puppy complete with schedule sheets for your veterinarian explaining the what, how, and when of all procedures that they have thus far received .

The parents of each litter will have been kept up to date on vaccines, wormings and health certifications such as ACVO/CERF, EIC,OFA HIPS and ELBOWS. We are working toward including  OPTIGEN PRA and RD/OSD, THYROID, DILUTE and CARDIAC testing for all .

We welcome serious inquiries/questions and are happy to help. Shortly before pups are ready to go to their new homes, we set up an appointment with prospective new owners to come and see the puppies. (To protect our pups against outside health risks, we ask that you only plan to visit one breeder a day. If you have been to another breeder before visiting us, PLEASE make sure that all clothes and footwear have been properly sanitized.) We look forward to meeting those who want to come and see our lovely pups. Since the life of a breeder is very hectic at times and in order to be able to preserve our family time, we do ask that no calls be initiated before 9:00am EST or after 7:00pm Est and all visits be scheduled a couple of weeks in advance if possible for both parties. Thank you for your understanding!!
